Ryan began his fire career as an on-call fire fighter in the Fire & Rescue Service in 1991 and is currently a serving Crew Manager. His fire safety career began in 1996 when he took a role in a large high end retail business where he gained qualifications and experience in fire safety, health and safety, education and training and risk management. Ryan headed a large team offering fire,health & safety management covering retail, warehousing, aviation and large places of assembly. He continued his career in moving into a fire safety role in telecommunications and then onto fire safety management in healthcare. Ryan is also listed on the ‘IFE Register of Fire Risk Assessors’.

- Over 30 years Fire Service Experience with Essex County Fire & Rescue Service (ECFRS).
- Over 25 years’ experience in a fire safety role.
- Has varied experience of managing fire safety in numerous environments including aviation, stadia, retail, healthcare, large offices and communications premises.
- Experienced in conducting fire risk assessments in varying premises types.
- Attended numerous major incidents in an operational role including Buncefield Oil
