Profile

Steve left the Royal Navy after 11 years service to join the Fire Service, where he spent another 23 years. His roles during his time within the fire service included being the lead instructor for the Service in the discipline of fire behaviour as well as working within the fire safety department in many different enforcement, education and assessment roles. Steve was also working closely with businesses within Hertfordshire in order to achieve safe and agreeable outcomes to diverse fire safety problems.

  • 24 years Fire Service Experience with Hertfordshire Fire & Rescue service (HFRS)
  • 6 years experience as a Fire Safety Officer
  • Served in a variety of positions within the Fire Safety Department
  • Involved in several Fire Safety Prosecutions
  • Acted as Means of Escape Fire Liaison to several local authority building control departments
  • Experience in major incident planning
  • Attended several major incidents in Command and Support roles
  • Team Leader – Fire Safety Enforcement Protection
  • Lead Fire Behaviour, Breathing Apparatus and Tactical Ventilation Instructor,HFRS representative on the National Fire Behaviour Panel
  • Lead Officer for all open air events and festivals within Stevenage and North Hertfordshire

  • Fire Safety – Responsible for all Fire Safety Enforcement and Fire Education in Hertfordshire
  • A Member of the Institute of Fire Engineers GIFireE
